Bloom Forum Week Project 16//52
I’m trying desperately to get through all of the images I took while on my last trip… so I saw the “Worldly” theme slated this week as an opportunity to show somewhere else in this wonderful world of ours.
That said, this photograph is actually straight out of camera taken from atop the Arch de Triomphe. The setting I used was “Tungsten” creating the blue effect which I quite liked and decided to leave “as is!”
A mentor of mine once told me, “If you knock over a light stand, step back and see what it did to your shot before you pick it up. It might be something completely unexpected and wonderful!”
So, here is my “blue” Paris courtesy of the “light stand” I knocked over…

A bit about the Eiffel Tower... Built in 1889 for the World's Fair, Eiffel was granted use of the land for only 20 years. At the conclusion of the lease the tower was slated to be dismantled. Thankfully that didn't happen! The iconic tower still stands today as a symbol of ingenuity and design and of course, Paris.
The always insightful Katie of Heber Springs / Little Rock, Arkansas, Portrait Photographer is next. Please visit her website to view her take on this week’s earth/wordly theme.
In the following weeks and months, I will be posting photographs based thematically on a 52 week challenge I’ve accepted through The Bloom Forum. Each post will feature a photograph that may be quite outside my usual style and will be followed by a link to another photographer’s post from the challenge group who will in turn link to yet another photographer’s post (usual around 10-15 participants). So take a trip around the globe (we are international) to see different interpretations of this week’s theme. Photos may appear at different times due to different time zones.

Oh Jen, this is so cool! I can’t believe this was SOOC. Such a cool effect and a beautiful scene!
This is so cool! And I had no idea you could get this effect in the camera. I’ll have to try it out! But this is so pretty, Jen. It reminds me of an old postcard. And yes, blow that up and hang it in your house!
Thank you!! A 5D…. just played with the white balance!
what camera do you have? i literally didnt know you could change the effect in camera, haha. so gorg.
great result!! the Eiffel in blue!! love it! oh isnt Paris just wonderful…? i visited it many years ago….
Love the effect you got from “knocking over the light stand”! This is a gorgeous shot & I agree with Courtney that it should be framed! I love the way the city sort of fades into the background and the focus is on the Eiffel tower.
I’m still processing all the photos I took! I hadn’t considered the print yet! Thanks for the idea!
Absolutely beautiful image!
Is this up in your house?
It should be, if not! My whole room is Paris themed
very cool shot!

It’s a metaphor Joe! LOL!:D
This is so cool! I love how you experimented with the White Balance. I love how my eye goes from the city, up the tower, towards the sky. Great capture of “Worldly!”
Oh and did you really knock over a light stand??
Very cool idea… I really like it a lot!
